Welcome to some of my favorite "places" on the Web. The page started out in 1995 as a list of my favorite ten web sites. Then it became the top fifty. Later I organized the favorites into a dozen categories which over time were supplemented with more than 75 sub-categories. At the peak there were roughly 1,200 links. Bill Machrone at PC Magazine wrote about patrickWeb some years ago and called Favorite Places a "mini Yahoo".
Over time the list of links has become very hard to manage as sites either moved around or folded. At this point, Favorite Places I have decided to keep this page for nostalgic reasons. None of the links are live but at least you can see what the categories were. If you are using the Opera browser, you can just highlight the text and right click to do a web search with the highlighted text.
