Emcee intro

Presenter

The following Introduction has been used by emcees to introduce the speaker. It is also just fine to say, “here’s John”.

Every industry has its elite. Today, we’re excited to have one of technology’s best and brightest talk with us about a topic that is near-and-dear to our hearts, the Future of the Internet. On John Patrick’s business card it says he is President of Attitude LLC. He is also former vice president of Internet technology at IBM, where he worked for thirty-eight years. But if you read between the lines — or have heard him speak at conferences throughout the world or read one of the many articles he’s been featured in — you’ll see that John’s unofficial title is Internet visionary. It’s one of the reasons why Business 2.0 named him as one of the industry’s most intriguing minds. And why Network World called him one of the 25 most powerful people in networking.

The list of John’s accomplishments inside and outside of IBM is as long as your arm: he was a founding member of the Global Internet Project, a founding member of the World Wide Web Consortium at MIT way back in 1994, a senior member of the Associaiton for Computing Machinery, and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. John is a member of the board of directors of WebMediaBrands Corporation, Knovel Corporation, Western Connecticut Health Network, Founders Hall, the Lehigh University Engineering Advisory Board, and Online Computer Library Center. John has also been an advisor to numerous startup companies and he is the author of Net Attitude.

So, without further ado, it is my pleasure to introduce today’s keynote speaker, John Patrick.
